What Is Bullet Proof Glass?

“Bullet proof glass” is the common name for a family of transparent materials that resist penetration by projectiles. Basics

Is bullet proof glass actually bulletproof? No. The accurate term is bullet resistant. Products are tested against specific threats — defined calibers, bullet weights and velocities — and rated accordingly under standards such as UL 752. The best bullet proof glass is the lightest, thinnest, most durable construction that is certified to the level your threat assessment actually calls for — installed in a frame rated to match.
